    New Car, pics inside!

Right, so I've migrated away from my 106...finally, a fine first car, but I always wanted something a bit more powerful!

So, on Friday I picked up my new car - a Peugeot 206 HDi 2.0l Turbo Diesel.

    'tis nice, lovely colour.

Pics can be seen here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...4&id=546644879

Haven't driven it a huge amount yet, but it is a fair bit quicker than the 106, I'm still getting used to it though, adjusting my seat every time I get in the car! Brakes feel odd, newer and braking starts earlier in the travel of the pedal - but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Need to give it an uber-wash soon, those pics are just after washing it, but if you look closely it isn't right yet.

Quick question, anybody know how to get small paint chips re-painted/fixed? You can see on the rear driver side wheel arch where a bit has come off, there are one or two other bits where the paint is lifting too - I'd like to get 'em fixed if I can!

but.. but.. it's FRENCH I found the 206 to be a particularly hateful vehicle myself, but if you like it, then it's all good

    Re: New Car, pics inside!

I wondered how you found me Matty!

Amusingly, it looks like the French have been a bit lazy in designing this car, the handbrake appears to be optimised for use by the individual sat in the passenger seat, because that is where the European driver would be sat, so my hand rubs on the passenger seat when I apply the handbrake, not a huge issue though.

Lost a headlamp tonight though, gotta' go buy me a new one tomorrow

Losing a headlamp was very careless of you

The 2.0hdi is a nice engine, torquey and smooth - fairly typical modern diesel. But the gearchange... don't you find it's like stirring jelly?!

    Re: New Car, pics inside!

Ok, headlamp bulb - you aren't the first to correct me!

I've come from an old 106 where the gearchange wasn't so great, and was prone to getting oddly stiff - I'm not sure if it was getting clogged up with 'stuff' or what was happening, but the 206 is a lot smoother - possibly a bit too smooth for my liking, don't seem to 'feel' a great deal with it.

But as I said, its a step up in every way from the 106 as far as I can tell so far, so I can live with it!

    Re: New Car, pics inside!

Thats a tidy looking motor you've got there, certainly much better than your 106 Am liking the colour of that too

I'm pleased to see its the 3 door version, I always think that the 5 door version looks really girly for some reason.

I notice the Vectra just in shot there is missing its wheel trims.

It is a bit bigger, and I have Size 7 feet so its fine for me

Wheel trims are back on the Vectra, my Sisters boyfriend is getting that car after it gets through an MOT. It needs a bit of a polish but it is a pretty sweet motor too, I like it.

nice looking car - just be carful of the dash though - thye are made out of crappy plastic (ok ok so its french we all should know that already) but it goes really bad if it gets too hot.

I briefly drove a CC one of these, that was seriously gutless though...
