I think the police would use it as an excuse to pull you and then tear the car apart tbh looking for something to book you on.
That mate, was Paul Worthingtons Megane. He's a good mate of mine. He got rid of it after it was 3 years old since it was due for an MOT and it was no way going to pass! He PXd it for a Clio Cup, but some n00b pulled out on him, writing it off in the process. He's now ordered an Octavia RS
He got pulled once for the rear reg plate (no illumination) but they ignored the front. Not strictly legal at all, but if you don't get pulled, why change it?
i always thougth that you didnt need a front plate anyway?
Saw one of your RSOC GTT drivin guys in L'boro the other day Lowe

just USA i know have that kind display.i always thougth that you didnt need a front plate anyway?
i've just asked a guy i work with who use to do MOT etc - he says thats it can't be higher than X amount but can't remeber what.
RTOC = Renault Turbo Owners Club.
RSC = Renault Sports Club.
We're pretty close as clubs but definately seperate. Which was it Trig? Most likely an RTOCer
Nope it's illegal.
Firstly it's too small, the lettering must conform to the rules set out by the DVLA (http://www.dvla.gov.uk)
and also it's a stick on so:A number plate must be displayed at the front and rear of motor vehicles (with some exceptions).
Number Plates must be easy to read and meet the British Standard.
Lettering should be black on a white plate at the front and a yellow at the rear.
The background surface should be reflex-reflecting but the characters must not.
There are separate requirements for traditional number plates displayed on vehicles constructed before 1 January 1973.
Lettering and spacing must be of a set size.
They are now getting tougher on front plates as they are the ones read by the digital speed cameras, although they would 99% likely get that one anyway. Are stick-on number plates legal?
No, number plates must meet the British Standard requirements and we are not aware of any self-adhesive number plates that are able to meet these requirements.

There was a guy on the RSOC who had a stolen recovered Escort Cossie on a Q plate. He had a tiny front plate on it, and said he could get away with it as he was not required to display a front plate as the car was a Q, anyone know anything about this?.
P.S. There was a downside though, the RSOC wouldn't let him join as a full member as his car was regarded as a 'replica' being Q reg, even though it was undoubtedly genuine...

Erm dunno then, T'was an F Reg GTT n pretty sure it was 4 letters...
well I got stopped in the landy cos I'd broken the front plate off the bumper, and had it propped up in plain view on the dash. According to the fuzz, the plate was technically illegal cos it wasn't mounted on a vertical/perpendicular surface. I got away with it tho cos I explained to him that I was "just driving home and it happened but 10 minutes ago, Officer"

It varies by State, Wilsonian. My state you don't have to have a front plate.just USA i know have that kind display.
You guys issued the plates by the government? Our plates are made of stamped metal and have to carry a tag that gets renewed each year when you pay for a new registration.
BTW- that plate wouldn't fly here either. But then again how you gonna stick a stamped metal plate on your window
