What I need to know is where are speed cameras located on this 300mile stretch?

    Is this the best route?
    What should I avoid?
What checks should I do on the car and what precautionary measures should I undertake?

Many thanks for any feedback, much appreciated.

    Nick

P.S. You might of seen this on other forums but every bit of info is required!

    couldnt you just avoid speeding?

there are directories of speed cameras on the net, just hunt one out.

check tyre pressures, oil and water before you go. plan somewhere to stop, in fact 2 places on that jouney. just to stretch your legs n the like.

Yeh, but I'm sure people speed now and again... theres also a slight competition between the 3 - kinda Gumball Rally style...

I was more interested in areas where they crack down hard on speeding, and have a camera in every corner.. and also any hotspots on the route.

Dude i will not be racing u there, because i have already lost before i start Tom was not built for speed, he was built for comfort

As for speeding, i will just be going 10% + 1 everywhere or following the line of traffic!

2 stops on a journey? I will be needing one at least every 1 1/2 hours or so, i get the most awful cramps in my knee's when i have been sat in the same place to long

Tom, when you drive you are constantly moving your legs... you wont get cramp cos u wont be thinking about it...

It's not a race, but the quicker you get there the more sun you get + dibs on rooms

you could always go out and buy road angel, this lets you know where the "hot spots" are etc. but i think it's a tad pricey...

oh and i know what you mean about long driving - i'm 6ft4 and drive a micra! every two hours i try and stop just to stretch!

    Thanks all for the feedback...

I have thought about a Road Angel, but I don't think I'd use it after... I just wont travel far enough.

Thanks for that Lowe... the thing is... around Nottm it's either NSL or 40... there's no 50's around here... so I'll probably end up doing 60 down them and not realise and get zapped!

    Thanks again

    An extra note:

If there are roadworks on the M5 Bristol from Jct15 out to Jct18/19 there are almost guaranteed to be speed cameras on them. The Avon Police really hate speeders in their roadworks.

Oh yeah and there's a camera on the Tamar bridge!
