Its that blocked, its been ripped as not enough air could get through...sucked apart by the engine basically...

Bloody hell, I imagine they're pretty lucky chunks of it didn't get sucked into the engine. It's motivated me to change mine anyway, don't think mine has been changed at the last couple of services.

Speedo reads about 150k iirc, don't know when it was last changed but i'd guess between 30 and 50 thousand miles going by the state of it...

hmmm.... air filter fail... I'm assuming the orange gloop is a moulding fault, and that it should look like the one on the right?

Yeah, I'm surprised they fitted it like that. It has been done by a garage as the cars owner doesn't do anything to the car.
