    Just won an auction......

    To spend the weekend of the Santa Pod Summernationals with this car



    Hopefully I should get the inside info on how to run a car in CCSE -and 'maybe' get out on the Saturday evening cruise... I hope

    Today is a good day - the question is, will my week carry on in this vain

    Im now officially NERVOUS
    I thought it would just be hanging around the pits doing little bits...... oh no - im in there as a full time member
    Have to find my way around a 706 CI ex pro-mod engine (whats that - 11.5 litres i think) and am sleeping in the trailer!
    But - on the upside I do have a passenger seat for the cruise on Saturday
    Now to find out what 1200bhp is like on the road
    Will post a report sometime early next week of how I got on

    p.s. Zak / Lowe any chance you could edit the title so it says won instead or err one, yes im a muppet who cant spell

    Holy moly......11.5 litres? That's nearly 1.5 litres per cylinder! Is it still based on a hemi/big block or is it a completely custom engine?

    They arent Hemi as thats Mopar (which I 'should' be running in mine) but it is a custom block/crank based on a BBC (Big Block Chevy) this is a detuned version of an engine that used to run 6 sec 1/4's
    Im going through some weird emotions at the moment.... nervous to elated then back to nervous again.
    Up at 6am tomorrow to be there before 8

    I visit to many drag racing sites ever day, this was from www.eurodrgaster.com its an auction for one of the Top Fuel drag bike riders who had a rather nasty tumble, shes still in hospital but getting better.

    Thats Andy Robinison - 3rd from the left, he will be there running his own car..... thats a Proper Pro Mod
    Awesome bit of kit and a bit of an animal - sprays around an extra 1000bhp on gas (from what I remeber).
    Last time he ran, it popped, banged, barked and generally threw itself down the 1/4
    Im actually going with Colin Lazenby and his wife and the photographer from Custom Car mag, time to do a bit of networking I thnk

    Oops - I was wrong about the amount of gas used - its only 800bhp...
    This is Andys car http://www.robinson-race-cars.co.uk/current.htm now imagine that engine in a road car - and you get a feel about what im up against tomorrow.
    The evening cruise is going to be a blast, I think there are between 8 and 10 CCSE cars running tomorrow, of which 3 (or is it 4) have these engines.... must be going on for over 8000bhp plodding through Poddington tomorrow evening
