    peugeot 306

    I have a peugeot 306 that once started revs straight to 3-4000 rpm can any one help with a solution I am thinking TPS throttle postion sensor

    all help aprreciated

    I'm thinking that your throttle must be stuck open or that there's an air leak somewhere. Engines run on air and fuel, to be able to rev to 4000 RPM it must be getting air from somewhere.

    Take the pipe off the throttle body and have a look. This is assuming it's a petrol of course, if it's an HDI diesel then the pedal sensor is an obvious place to start.

    Check all the vacuum pipes, particularly those near the inlet manifold.
