I think that they (tyres) all end up in layers on the road, and end up as sand. Rubber is silicone based, like glass. Well i think that the rubber shreds, and ends up where it starts... on beaches.

The rubber is turned into small particles that are then airbourne and blown about with the wind. Hence this could be a reason why respitory problems such as asthma, and others are on the increase?
