    Car stereo with steering remote?

I'd like to replace the tape player in my car with something a bit more modern as it's been a few years since I've owned any tapes.

Ideally would like to get a clip-on steering wheel remote for the stereo, wired or wireless, but so far I've only found them for Pioneer Bluetooth models, which cost rather a lot more than I was planning to spend. Lots of cheaper steroes say they accept remotes, but this seems to be for cars with them built in rather than it being an extra accessory.

Can I buy a separate remote anywhere, or any recommendations for an affordable model which includes one? Cheers.

Sony used to do a range with IR remotes, although I'm not sure if they had steering wheel mountable remotes.

Used a bluetooth one before, they work really well. I would consider spending a little bit more. I have a JVC stereo, I find you don't need a steering wheel remote if you have easy navigational buttons on the unit that don't need looking at to use.

I bought a pioneer steering wheel remote years ago, I don't think it was BT, and it wasn't massively pricy. It clipped around with an oversized laccy band.

In fact it looks like a forerunner of this:

Edit again: In fact, that seems to be an IR version, the CD-SR100. £25 on t'internet...
