It's pretty good on the rough and bleeding fast on the smooth.

But, it's just not my type of car. The sound of it was nice, but a little quiet for my own tastes. Despite being so big it doesn't *feel* fast. 100mph+ feels like you're just cruising along without a care in the world. Oh and this one wasn't limited...
er, so how were you driving it? feels as fast as the clio???

I agree 100%, best all round car in the world.

Acceleration which will keep up with most lambo's, ferarris, porches, and you can fit a fridge in the back and still kill skooby's and evo's with no trouble.

I love it, has to be the Avant tho, all new audi saloons are so boaring looking, but the Avant's are all sexy as hell.

I always fantasized about the RS2 Avant when i were a few years younger than i am now, something about a porsche killing estate car that just makes me grin (plus it looked subdued, just big wheels and big disks and the engine noise to give the game away, this definatly wasnt a 80 2.0e Avant, oh no tho....)

    Yum, someone buy me one.

RE: Porsche Cayenne. ROFL. sorry, ROFL is all i can say to that!

Oh of course and then theres taking the limiter off the RS6 and watching the needle top 200 (ok 190 with that fridge in the back....)

Are they the kind of things you mean by 'best-all-round car'?

    Will
Yeah..nearly ....the 4 foot mud thing is the scariest.....I know what you mean and the Landy is the way forward for that...but.....the Audi is less likely to get stuck in the Highlands than any other perfomance car.

doing 4000 miles anywhere in it would be as good as it gets without being a Bentley Mulsanne

School run..you know it makes sense

Glacier...yeah..maybe..just maybe. It really is nearly perfect isn't it ?

The Audi is a compromise though, I mean for 60k you could go get a 10k estate car from your local used car place and then spend 50k on a nice out n out sports car.

Then you'd have the estate for the school run, lan party and weekly visit to Tesco, and the sports car for anything else.

For £1850 AMD do a power kit for the RS6 that takes it up to 600BHP

It's not advertised on their site yet, but it is Audi approved. I remember seeing it when I was having some work done on my car there.

You got roopm for one car in your life. Only one. You cant have 3. You get a top job, with a company car and loads of fuel on your account.

Or...you live in a nice house with enough room in the garage for a family car and a track day single seater.

You want....FAST.....BIG....PRACTICLE.....and USEFULL every single day. Snow. Rain.Sun.Holiday.Going to Tescos.Work run.Kids to School.

Every single job in one car.....Homebase/B&Q visits, moving house for your Mum, taking your mates dog to the vets, collecting your mate from Heathrow with his skiis.....everything in one car.

    And it cant be dull....boring...slow.....

    Its all in one !

That's one hell of a car. You can use it for pretty much everything like Zak said.

There's that new Volkswagen that's coming out soon with similar performance isn't there. Can't remember it's name though.

But that RS6 is awesome. I'd take that over BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, etc, anyday. And I hate BMWs anyway.
