    New Induction system....

Now given what is due to happen in Mid September I REALLY shouldnt have bought this.... but your only here once eh (and the wife was there when I bought them, so thats OK)
Anyway, bit of background on the events that led up to this. I originally purchased an Edelbrock Victor manifold for a Big Block Chevy - these come in various disguises, oval/rectangle port along with 2 different carb openings 1 'smallish' 1 MUCH bigger for Dominator carbs.
This came to me as a hardly used S/H manifold in the dominator pattern. I then decided that I couldnt really afford the £800 for a Dominator carb - bearing in mind these are all out race carbs and decided on an adapter so that I could fit my normal pattern carb onto the manifold.
Not going to go into the science behind it (im guessing most will have got bored and hit the back button by now....) but imagine a small orifice / venturi opening into a very large plenum = serious airflow decrease with a very good chance of fuel dropping out of suspension.
Anyway - popped up to the Pod this Saturday (Mopar Nats) and after talking to friends, walking around the pits.... noticed a Chevy parked up, with bits for sale
They only had THE carb I had been looking for in AGES and in the correct size for my engine - this is the 'baby' Holley Dominator of the group flowing around 750/800 Cubic Feet a Minute.....
The pics dont show the size very well, this manifold has long runners (and therefore sits high) and the carb is well over a foot long. Now to build the rest of the engine.....

I think under race conditions VERY low MPG - normal use (as normal as you get for one of these) around 10/12mpg

Not bothered about dropping anything in them in at the moment.... as I can just turn it upside down! Need to strip the carbs anyway as there are a couple of mods I want to do to improve airflow a bit.
Much kudos to my wife though - shes an absolute star for letting me buy them, when I bought another carb only 2 weeks ago
Apart from out performing the 'old' carb - this one (I hope) will give a psychological advantage as it should help fill the engine bay

I'll be disappointed if that thing don't stick out of the top of the bonnet tbh...

So would I glad I have a bonnet scoop already !
Anyway - took a couple more pics this evening, in the garage so lighting hasnt come out too well, but you should get a better perspective of size, have placed a 50 pence piece in both shots

    Mmm - how tall

Carb size - 50p to L/H side of carb trumpets
