"So sir what was the cause of the accident?"
"Accident? Surely you jest! It's my trackday car, it's has removable body panels and even the windows come out. I just store them on the roof between events."

lol - yowch!
This is part of the reason I can't bring my self to do the Hexus track day, O would be crying like a little girl if I crashed my Audi, and beating the crap outta anyone else who crashed into it.
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
Never forget getting a lecture off some old guy at one of the track days I went to.He went on and on about how I was inexperienced and so should stay behind him; I wasn't going to point out that this would have been my 4th track day of the year, and that I had held a competition licence for the last 2 years - This was just one of those old duffers that had been driving since time began and therefore was always better than you....
So I stayed behind, keeping a good 10 metres behind him, and watched him fly off at the hairpin, through the tyrewall, bending his MG into a similar state as the picture.
Hey, this ain't genna be a "c'mon, try and chase me round" event - it will be hosted at a pukka race track, with all the rules and regs that go with it. It's not a day for tipping up in you Focus *cough* with three mates to do donuts and handbrake turns all day. So don't be put off - any competeing will be based on timed laps ONLY. And the size of your balls!!!Originally posted by Shad
That's why at organised track days there are certain rules to try and prevent accidents. If I go to the Hexus event I'd be quite wary of going on track with other cars, I'd rather do single laps or maybe 3 cars on track at a time so there's plenty of space.
So get your arse down to it... when it happens......
oi!
Personally i thought it was easy when i went round castle coombe, even tho i had one of the slowest cars on the track (un tuned 1.0 mini)
Just keep using your mirrors, if someones coming up to you pull over to the outside of whatever the next corners going to be, and let the guy go up your inside. And if your overtaking someone, make sure he knows your there before hurtling up the inside of them (i.e he's looked in his mirror and looked you straight in the eyes).
Personally, IMHO, you have to be driving like an idiot to do damage to your car. If your right at your car's limits you should be understeering a bit, oversteering a bit, drifting a bit, NOT rolling a bit. You have to go way beyond your or your cars limits in order to roll it!!!
Its a superb laugh, good for gaining skillz(tm) too. Just come along, drive sensibly (i dont mean @ 30mph!!) and take in the experience. Superb.

blue ovals 'r' us!
Butuz did they give you guys hot laps in the Castle Combe Protons? I did a driving day there, Focus's and Formula Ford, then an instructor took three of us round in a Proton GTi. It was hilarious, taking lines they'd never teach you and taking huge liberties with the tyres and brakes. The Formula Fords in the beginners hands just got swamped. It did show how some drivers get the 'ole red mist if you tank up behind them.
Basically if you can't stop yourself racing the guy behind you then don't do a track day cos you'll bend your motor. If you can keep your head and stay calm the chances are your motor will leave with smaller pads and well-worn tyres

Nah it was the mini day at castle coombe, could take your mini round for £25 odd. Great fun. I managed to overtake me mates dad in his tuned up stage 2 998cc wich i was quite pleased with
But yeh, dont go on and race at all costs and take huge risks, if i see any of you lot doing that i wont be going on with you.
