The "30mph limit" are kind of unwritten but generally accepted rules. It really depends on where you were when you got zapped Trig. Each Police force look at it differently.

With you on this one. IIRC 30mph over is strictly on motorways. I mean, 30 over on a 20 outside a school would put you at 50mph in a 20. You would deserve to be set alight in your car, never mind the ban.Originally Posted by [GSV]Trig
I hate to say it mate, if you have been clocked at 80 in 60 you're probably well outside the x% plus 4mph rule. (X= I can't bloody remember the exact percentage after what I've drunk tonight).
But hey, I've got everything crossed for you. Cos I'm the last man to preach about this one
Not going to do my preaching thing this time, but good luck, fingers crossed. Hope you lay off the gas a little from now, dude.
Guidelines are here: http://www.pepipoo.com/Magistrates_guidelines.htm
As you can see it's not so simple as +30=ban
TBH since most speedos underread, IF it caught you, then you are looking at three points, which you well deserve, for failing to show proper forward observation.
Cheers guys.
Just got to sit tight for the next two weeks I guess.
Trouble is... I'm moving house a week friday, so that could cause problems with the post etc.
Yes, I do deserve to get caught, I realise that.
Thing is, it's a clear road from the A34 towards Reading. Single carriageway each way with a "third" lane down the middle which is hatched (with dotted white lines, not the suicide lines etc).
It was in Oxfordshire Lowe (part of the Thames Valley Police).
Why does everything seem to be going ok for me, and then this
The annoying thing, is that you just don't know until the letter arrives (or doesn't) so I'm trying not to think about it, but it's hard not to.
I got 3 points and £60 for 78 in a 50, standard Fixed Penalty - you may be fine. It said in the letter that the lenience was because i'd been driving for over 5 years and had a clean licence until then.

Not wanting to urinate on your parade, but even so the link you posted is still ambiguos, and note that it assumes you end up in court - you won't see a magistrate otherwise. Firstly it comes down to the CPS (and hence the links to the county Police, some of which are more leniant that others) to decide if they want to nail you to the wall, or just take your money and run.
So, in summary no-one can say what Coco will get until the letter arrives. It's just way to unpredictable. You should note that these are only guidelines and the magistrates can deviate from them.
As far as fines are concerned speeding carries a maximum fine of £1,000 (£2,500 if speeding on a motorway). The guidelines also lay down fines which are very much dependant upon your income.

Was that recently Barakka or some time ago?
What's the score with replying to the NIP? Do I have, say, 28 days to reply?
I only ask this, because of moving house, we will have the post redirected so this may add delay etc if anything should come through.
You have 28 days yes. If your response is delayed, I suggest you write to the CPS in question as soon as you get the letter (if you do!) to let them know your situation.
