Stay away from Robin Hoods. The kits are cheap and built by people without money so quality is very hit and miss as a result.
There are a lot of Sevens that are just as good or better quality than Caterhams and much cheaper.
I own a Fisher Fury and while I was still in the UK it was my daily driver. But that was only from May to August, so the weather was generally fine. The canvas hood lets water in even if it's only drizzling. I've been kind of swapping the engine from a crossflow to a duratec but it's not easy when I'm doing it three weeks at a time while on holiday in the UK.
I'll be exporting it to New Zealand in January and I've ordered a new chassis and body kit to stick on the container so I can build a new one in NZ. Auckland has very sudden torrential downpours followed by sunshine ten minutes later. You would be driving with the roof down and by the time you pull over and put it up the shower has passed, you're ten minutes late and sopping wet.
Insurance on the Fury with the 2.0 Duratec tuned to 200bhp would be about £300 FC limited to 5,000 miles. Not sure what it would be in New Zealand but most quotes I've had here were much cheaper than the UK.
I wouldn't be able to live with something "sporty" that's as slow as the Smart Roadster.
