It is indeed, but could be somewhat misleading for manufacturers ring times, along with setting laps on closed circuits.
Half the fun is mixing in with everything from a battered and beaten old E34 530i, up to a flock of BMW S1000RR's on a mission! I'm just glad they have multiple ticket machines at the entrance so I can get one on the right hand side. Nothing worse than having to de-harness to scan your ring card!
