    Exclamation Interesting Police item today...

Driving back from work [well my dad was driving, i was a passenger today!] and we were driving through one of our local towns [Ilkeston for reference to Nottingham people!] and we were travelling down a long straight road...30MPH limit.

We crossed sort of a bridge structure and tucked away inside the bridge was a nice white van, obviously police and watching traffic. The way it was doing with this was like 2 satellites facing up and down the road that were about football sized on top of a tripod sttod away from the van itself with wires leading into the back.

Round the very next corner [a sweeping bend that u can not see round as u drive down the road] a Police roadblock was present and they were pulling in cars and doing what seemed like a search. [one family had all there belongings on the floor by the side of the car!!!]

My dad thought it was a speed trap, he was doing 35 following a car and the car he followed got pulled in but my dad was waved on by!

Whats the bet on what this was then?

Maybe they had a tip off on a vehicle known to be full of drugs or something, and the car they pulled over matched the description?????????

Did the vehicles that were pulled over have anything in common, colour, shape etc or do you think it was just random.

I've been through something similar! I assumed it was some sort of speed trap where they stopped you further down the road. Im a bit suprised I wasn't stopped now, seeing as I drive a black lowered BMW, they are trying to get me for drug dealing but they havent been able to prove it yet

They do that in Islington sometimes, but I'm pretty sure it's to try and stop people driving around with drugs/weapons whatever.

They always stop non-whites. It's really obivous and quite bad IMHO.

Funny that, the Alfa was a white businessman on his own but the family which had all their stuff over the pavement and were all at the side looked possibly Afro-Caribbean.
