Wondering how insurance works.
If I'm 2-3month in on a policy thats paid monthly ( and have staff privaleges ) whats the normal situation for being able to cancel?
Also would the next insurer count the 2-3months towards that years ncb?

No-claims is only counted in Full Years unless stated otherwise, for example some insurers do 9 month policies where you get 1 years NCB as long as you stay with them as your insurer. 2-3 months counts as nothing i'm afraid.
With regards to cancelling a policy... depends on the insurer, some will just cut the loses and say farewell (although with the larger 1st payment you're probably 1-2 months ahead anyway), some will charge a cancellation fee. One company I was insured with a couple of years ago made me sign a credit agreement (loan) from a finance company who paid the full amount for me, I guess if i'd cancelled that one I would of had to pay all the remaining payments.
