depends, if you can do without a car for a while, use auto trader/local rag sell privately. if u cant trade it in

Local paper will probably get more viewings as it is what it says, local. Autotradr tends to cover quite a large area, so unless it's advertised at a silly price you might get more calls but less views.

I'd say traders are last result if you want fair money. Yes, if it's something they could sell, they will take it on the spot. But you will take a big dent in value.

There is no best way to sell a car. It depends entirely on the car in question. If it's a cheapo car, then probably the local paper. If it's a complete shed with hidden faults, then the local auction. If it's a regular car, Autotrader. If it's something thats well saught after with a huge waiting list, perhaps the local main dealer.
