Just had a lil bump in my car this morning (my fault), smashed my headlight and indicator covers but not the bulbs. Now am I allowed to drive?
Also if anyone knows of any scrapyards in derby...

You'll be alright to drive in the daytime (technically you might fall foul of the law, but the worst you'll get is a 'fix it in 7 days' type notice if you're stopped, unless you're very unlucky).
Rich :¬)
thought that was the case. well im gonna make my way to a scrapyard in a few minutes then.

went down scrappy and found one AX in the whole place, nabbed the headlight/indicator from it and went home and fixed them to my car. So todays little accident cost me £12.50.
not bad.

Nice one
Technically a broken indicator cover is an MOT failure - so I'd guess illegal
mine passed, because the bulb was orange...Originally Posted by Skii
Broken indicator could fail the MOT if:
a) there were sharp edges (any sharp edge on a vehicle can be failed)
b) if the light showing from it is white, rather than orange.
