Interesting little quiz, reason I ask, is that at 20k miles, in a DS3, mine are still ages away from needing replacing, both on the front and the rear. This is at 2+ years old.
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
I don't think I've kept a car long enough to find out. I think I had my Civic for three years and changed the front tires about midway through that. My current car has decent enough tread that I don't think I'll need to replace them during my planned ownership (unless I turn off the traction control - it is a V8 RWD! ).
Anyway, related to my recent purchase, since when have they started using sealant on a simple tyre change? It's the same orange foamy/rubbery stuff they use for windows, judging by the mess. This just a bit of added value/protection?
Alloys get a bit corroded inside over time, seems the gunk fills any gaps. So yeah, shouldn't be needed, but worth it to them if you don't come back complaining the tyre keeps going down.
