for the first time..... ever....I was not utterly convinced it matched their previous efforts. I know how busy they are and that they need to keep material flowing... but it was a little too much B roll for me... not enough content.
Hey...it's still 99% better than 99% of the dross on Youtube but... it wasn't quite as good.

Almost all of it was voiceover though, and it was mostly a factual description of a fairly detailed machining and manufacturing process, so there wasn’t much room for the usually banter. There were one or two subtle bits of humour in there though,
But still well worth watching - just how complex an apparently simple requirement can be.

I think that was the point, and why it was its own video rather than a true episode. I quite like the idea honestly - The usual episodes of "here's the problem, here's our solution and an overview of how we got there" and then "here are the more detailed bits about how we made our solution" in between for those who want that.
Exactly that and as they stated at the beginning, this is not part of the Official Project Binky series. This is more in depth piece with a more engineering bent to it. Not meant to be funny but meant to give detailed insight. With that in mind i'd say mission accomplished.
There's a lot more material in these videos than the usual series. I like it, because the quality of the design and machining is fantastic that kind of thing interests me. It is a different style than the regular videos, but still worth a watch!
Just got round to watching part 2 of "Howie Did It" = fascinating - I just couldn't visualise you it was going to come together - and how many individual components were needed to solve what at first seemed a simple problem!
