BTCC - Car jacks built into the car?

Am I going crazy? I think I just saw a BTCC car jack itself up at the pits. Is that right?

You can see it here. Guy on the back left of the car will charge the air as it comes into the pits, there's then a realease he hits and the air will dump and the car hits the deck.

Can't I've seen them used in anger on the latest generation of BTCC car but they've been used in the BTCC for many, many years now amongst other saloon racing series. See them being used in the various GT series' (British GT racing being a particular favourite of mine), most prominently in BTCC during the years when they had pit stops (far more exiting period, bring back the super tourers! ).

Don't they have these in Indycar and Nascar as well? One of the pit crew plugs a air line in the rear and the car lifts up by itself. Apart from the extra weight this would be good for F1. No more running over jack men!!

At Le Mans this year IIRC one of the Rebelion Racing LMP2 cars had a leak and only one side of the car went up on the jacks, queue mechanics scrabbling for a trolley jack..
