Right, its a kids bike from the late eighties (and maybe early 90's). It was black and had a sound effects box thing on the front covered in buttons that played different sounds.
Any idea what its called? Tis driving me and a few others mad! ta

Wildcat?
It was something - cat
I remember it (Cause I had one) had a cat or tiger on the front. It was all black and had laser effects when you pressed some buttons...

Dunno about the sound box... Hmm old kids bikes. Weeelll, in my day it was Grifters or Choppers. Oh, and Boxers for the little kids. (Didn't you love the way you could backpedal to use the back brake for MASSIVE downhill skids - Could do a tyre in a fortnight ). Um, then you had the Raleigh Bomber. Much stylised on the old american bikes. Can't have been much later than that, that mountain bikes started appearing.
Sorry that's the only ones I remember by name....
There were different models apparently:
"Street Wolf, a 16" wheel machine aimed at 6-7 year-olds was the most popular model, the others being Wild Cat, a 20" wheel bike for 7-9 year-olds, and Wolf Cub, a junior version with stabilisers. The latter set a new record for the most expensive bike ever sold with stabilisers, retailing at about £70 (= about £120 today)."
I knew someone with a Street Wolf. It was fun for about a minute, but then you got a bit bored in all honesty. One of the best things my parents ever did for me was buy me a proper BMX for my sixth birthday. The guy in the shop ignored my pleas to sell me a smaller bike with 16" mag wheels and told my parents to buy me a full size 20" wheel BMX. Thousands of wheelies, jumps and skids later, I came to the conclusion that it had been good advice.
Rich :¬)
Best thing about a Boxer was that you could turn-in the back rubber edge of the rear mud guard and make it sound like a motor-bike!
Had a black & gold Grifter later, built out of lead, went like stink. However it was all too easy to slip the throttle-style gear shift and end up with feet under pedals at full speed ..... ouch!
Street Wolf was comedy, always wanted one! heh
Wasn't there also a Strada, a bigger version of the Boxer?

OMG i remember those bad boys, I used to have one and it was called a raleigh vector... 3 speed sturmey archer gears, a radio, sound effects, what a flyer! I bet it would be worth a fortune now. I think it was actually the next one up from the wildcat or even it's predecessor as mine was sort of off white.
