Mate's got an R reg Astra, 1400cc, 1997/98.

Started it up and a light came on the dash briefly that looked like Engine management light. It turned back off again the next time they started the car.. Any ideas?

Hasn't come back on since, but obviously he'll keep an eye on it. Any typical causes for me to look for?

ECU light could come on for a variety of reasons, I'd say check the ECU codes but the ECU has to register a fault for 5 seconds before the its actually stored.

Had it not been started for a while?
