    Battery issues

    Hey guys,

Went to change the battery on my car today. It's been sat for a long time so it was dead - the problem I'm having is that everywhere I went to get a new battery, no one could supply me with the converters / attachments / whatever they are things on top so you can fit the narrower cables my car has to the positive and negative.

I just need to find somewhere to buy these extra bits!

I'm not car minded in the slightest - sorry if this doesn't make too much sense!

    Car is a 1998 peugeot 106

    Any help is massively appreciated,

    James

    Re: Battery issues

No that doesn't make much sense to me.

Every car I have worked on has had terminals that you take off by loosening with a spanner. Buy the correct battery, and it should just drop in and tighten the bolts back up.

    Re: Battery issues

Damn manufacturers... From a cursory Google, the terminals don't appear to be standard but it seems like you should be able to remove and reuse them. A thread on the subject here.

    Re: Battery issues

    Thanks- This is really useful.

Apparently you can remove the thread attachment and reuse it - not sure how exactly as I have tried but will give it another shot.

Seems like another lets make it harder than it needs to be peugeot thing!

    Cheers
