Which tyres for Ford Focus 2010 Model?

Hi All, I had my car serviced today and came back with a few things needing fixed. One of which was 3 new tyres!

I don't know what ones to get. Any recommendations? Looking at really no more than £65 per tyre or so. 85% of the driving is motorway (80 miles per day).

Any help appreciated.

It may well be a genuine recommendation that they're nearly at the point of changing but don't just go on any 'advisories' they've listed.
Easy enough to give them a look and measure (even if it's using a coin) to gauge the tread depth left.

Secondly without the tyre size it's a little hard to know what's what

Depending on your supplier, you may be able to pick up uniroyals at that kinda price... they get extremely good reviews, especially when it comes to road holding.

do you want safety or economy (fuel consumtion etc), thats the question

Generic recommendation is to not skimp - tyres are among the most important things, both for safety and performance. Second recommendation is judge on wet performance primarily - the differences between tyres in the dry is minimal, but can be large in the wet.

Without a size/speed rating it's hard to know what your budget gets - go look at the existing tyres for the easiest way of checking.

As a generic recommendation though, I'd go Goodyear Efficient Grip Performance. Really good wet weather performance, and very low rolling resistance. Cheaper than conti/michellin too.

Also, if you are doing three tyres it may be worth doing all four - so they match across the axles and have similar tread depth.

In terms of supplier, have you had a look at the likes of Camskill or Oponeo? They'll enable you to get a better tyre for the same money compared with your local garage - you just need to take them somewhere to be fitted.

Extremely decent. My second favourite tyre behind Michelin Pilot Sport 3, which are usually more expensive and are not as economic.

In the end I went for 4 Avon ZV5's. They get decent reviews (better than the others I was looking at) and I got them for £228 fitted which seemed okay.
