I'm not sure the diagram did, but maybe the writeup did, as Jim explained.
Thankyou for explaining that! Very helpful
I would say your movement accross the lanes there is correct. But I bet people from the first exit you come to start to pull out and cut you off from that left lane! This is why you need to indicate right when you're going round, then indicate left just as you pass that exit, so that they know they shouldn't be pulling out yet/should give you plenty of room to turn off if they do. But, this is where a lot of people fail to pay attention to where you're going/don't see your indicators/are just greedy morons who want to cut you off and get ahead. And I bet that they start beeping at you when you try to change to the left lane and exit!
^^^^^^ That's exactly what happens
I was taught (unless indicated otherwise by markings or signage):
- If taking first left exit: left lane, indicate left when approaching roundabout.
- If taking any subsequent left or straight-on exit: left lane, indicate left at or just after preceding exit, unless:
- If taking straight-on exit and the left-lane is already occupied or full, you may use right-hand lane, following the same indicating rules as above.
- If taking right: right lane, indicate right when approaching roundabout, indicate left at or just after preceding exit, exiting in left-hand or most appropriate lane.

To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Roundabouts are a nightmare, so many people in N.I. just go in the left lane and follow it around until they get to their exit...even if this is them going back to where they came from
