    Clio Exhaust

    Lo all,

My mates got a 1997/8 Clio.

He bought a Scorpion backbox for it yesterday costing £183 + £35 fitting.

It sounds a lot better than standard. I was just wondering what (if any) performance improvements it might give him?

    FYI: It's a 1.2 Petrol Clio.

    none.

simple answer... a backbox on its own = NO performance gains.. he sould've put a full SS system on it cost about £150 more and gives u about 5-8Bhp extra.

    technically he just wasted £230ish

None. Even a full stainless won't give anything you'll notice. Sticking an exhaust on a turbo car gives a noticeable difference, but on a NASP you're talking a handful of ponies at best. On a 1.2.. well, it's not worth it really.

First of all, I dont think this comment is neccessary.

And as for 3dFX's comment, I find it offensive.....

My mate is NOT a 'rood boy'. Far from it.

He has done tastful mods to his car, making it look better than standard.

He didnt buy the exhaust for power gain, or to improve performance. I was just curious if it did give him any, thats all.

I was doubtful that it would increase performance, but thought I'd better make sure by asking you lot in Cars + Bikes (thanks Lowe ), maybe I should take myself elsewhere to ask these questions in future..........

    Hairdressers car huh?

    http://www.al004a2442.pwp.blueyonder...ages/Alfa2.zip

Download that then call my car a pissy hairdressers car.

    Yes it's a Clio. Yes, it's a 1.4. Yes that's an Alfa 2.0l Twinspark being owned. Hmm...
