I haven't had a bucket and hosepipe out to clean mine in coming up on a year now... That's not because I've discovered some fancy chemical waterless solution or because I pay to have it done either. It just hasn't been cleaned and y'know what, I thought about doing it last weekend but it just isn't dirty enough to warrant the time.
In fact, last time it was cleaned I had a date the day after and I DID pay someone else to do it. On my way home from work I popped into the hand car wash built on an old petrol station five minutes round the corner from me and had the nice Eastern European chap with three words of English and a smile hose it down inside and out for around a fiver.
... and no, she didn't notice how clean it was when I picked her up, making the entire excercise a waste of time
I agree with what Saracen said, but I use the Meguiars version called Quik Detailer. It smells nice too.
It is really good for getting rid of the dust on the car if you have washed it recently.
And for the people who spend ages detailing the car properly, it is used as the lubricant when claying the car as well.
If you think the meguiars auto glym stuff is good, try sonax extreme shine brilliance quick detailer (I know) after a wash it performs better than a lot if waxes. Solid couple of weeks of beading with nothing else on it. Its what gets used on swmbos which I can't be bothered clay + long term protection on.
