i took one for a test drive about 12 months ago, when I was looking at a new car from my Bro in Law...

Really Really sweet mota.... based on the turbo 1.8 TT engine, with Passat base.. leather, abs, aircon.. the works... Real nippy for its size, and I would have thought quite tunable based on the engine and suspension...

he decided not to get one, as my sister didnt like the 'Skoda' badge on the front... then again, they went and bought a Primera SRI, so they cant be that bothered about badges

Well the Police use them as Pursuit cars round here so they cant be all bad, based on VW technology, good german build quality, just means they get bigger and fatter over time like the Golf

If you can live with the badge, then definitely. It's one of the best motors for that price range.

i have an rs and it is a great car i would recommend it totally. i have had the ecu reprogrammed to 230ishbhp. had a A3 1.8T before and it is much better than that and better value for what is really a vw/audi anyway.

I really should get off my backside and sort out a test drive, but i've been too busy these last weeks....

Maybe have to take a day off and do a few test drives of things that are on the list.

Isn't the leon a bit dodgy on build quality?, (plus it appears to be 2-3K more than the skoda for similar spec)
