I went to my first event last year at Donington to see the BTCC final round :D, now im looking to visit a lot more racing events this year.
Would like to hear what any of you have planned, including dates and descriptions.

I am hoping to go to Rally GB, as I am near it atm, but this may be my last year here, so i can't waste this chance. All i need is someone to go with.
I have been meaning to go to rally GB at some point, but uni usually gets in the way, and it's a faff to get a good spot to watch from.
i might get there eventually....
Hoping to go see some BTCC and British Superbikes at Oulton...
:)
When is the first round of BTCC? And where?
And im totally up for superbikes too :)
Well i am planning to go to Japfest 2005, it is motorsport after all.
I am not planning to watch much in the way of motorsport this year, i am planning to actually take part in it!
;)
Butuz
im going rally gb in september :D
How about we make it a HEXUS event? There's bound to be more people going. Maybe someone has been before and knows the good spots to be in? In any case it'll be cool to meet up, especially at such an event where you need a bit of a crowd around you to enjoy it.
only bad thing about that is, its jam packed, so
a) finding somebody is hard
b) standing near them on a stage is nigh on impossible :(
Me and a couple of mates were thinking of going to Rally GB, we are also going to attend the local Rally of Kent and some events at Brands Hatch (30 minutes away).
I race in the forumula ford championship - I'll be at brands hatch, castle combe, mallory park and maybe oulton/thruxton depending on dates.
so I'll be watching what evers racing on the same day as me, normally the formula renault or Formula 3 championship
If theres any hope of making this a worthwhile trip then i think you can count me in.Quote:

spot the trend yet ;)
And then there is the Le-Mans 24 hour race. Mate of mine moved near there so I got free digs for a few days :D
Where is the 24hour? That sounds very interesting :)
You must know of the Le-Mans 24hr race 0.o its based in France, June 18 - 19th and the Area of the Track is just called Le Mans there are a few campsites near by one is called Beausoir I think.
So no UK 24hour races?
I heard there is a Nurburgring 24hour, is it annual?
Haven't got a clue, check their site, that will tell you the events for the coming year, but that isn't exactly in the UK/Local either :P
When and where is the first round of BTCC?
I should buy a TOCA game to learn all about it again
last decent toca only game was way back in 2000 with Toca Touring Cars 2 on the PS1 - For BTCC info check their site:
http://www.btccpages.com/
That will give you all you need to know about the seaon
What about the Race Driver series? I heard good things about them. I dont think i can go that far back now to play TOCA :(
The latest Race Driver (2) has bugger all to do with toca. It only has Seat Leon Cupra cup. One before that i can't remember. They do have Ozzie V8s and DTM, which is nice. TRD2 is alright, but if you want a really realistic racing sim wait a bit for GTR.
Like DK said the actual british touring cars disappeared in Toca Race Driver 1 so I doubt codemasters will release a BTCC only game again :(
GTR on the other hand, doesn't cover BTCC but its a game and a half from the demo that was floating around here a while back :D
I don't know whether ill manage it this year, but ive wanted to go to Le Man for sometime.
Some ppl I used to work with went every year, they took some great shots and said the campsites were one big party... sounds good to me.
Booze, cars, birds = :iloveyou:
Anywhere that I can take my own car for less than stupid money.
I would wait for GTR but it is PC-only from what i hear. I dont do PC racing anymore. And its probably too realistic to be fun for me. I just want a game that handles the fun/smart AI side of racing that GT4 still hasnt achievedQuote:

- Superbikes at Silverstone
- Formula 1 at Silverstone
- A1 GP Series first round at Brands Hatch
- Finish off with Santa Pod flame and thunder show
- Formula 1 tests at Silverstone during the year
The beauty of being a student  Some of those events are not quite in date order, but we have the list sorted into a semi-calender format somewhere.
The time is set aside, we are just waiting for the dates and booking service to come available on for all but the British GP at mo [we already have tickets for that!]
Will be awesome when it gets underway.
Hey, thats pretty much what i had in mind, i'll use this year as a time for checking out as many appealing events as possible.
If you can get me the dates that would be good.
My brother told me a load of dates the other day but i didnt write it down :(
Drove past Silverstone today, didnt realise it was so close
Whats the price of an F1 ticket?

Strange, do they re-arrange the order of the races every year? I went to see the donnington event last year and it was the final round, not the first round. It wasnt even 6 months ago :confused:Quote:
April 9-10 Donington Park National UK
April 30-May 1 Thruxton UK
June 4-5 Brands Hatch Indy UK
June 18-19 Oulton Park Island UK
July 16-17 Croft UK
July 23-24 Mondello Park Ireland
August 6-7 Snetterton UK
August 27-28 Knockhill UK
September 17-18 Silverstone National UK

Allready been to a few shows, nothing much though. Planning on going to Scottish Mini Weekend, and maybe a few runs (not sure yet). Would also like to get to the UK WRX.

Nothing planned for Shows this year I 'think' at the moment. Will make it to NEC again in 2006 for the Motorshow though.Quote:

The ticket prices for F1 have gone up now, the seats I got (sat at Stowe B) were £180 when released, I think they are just over £200 for the 3 days. It is expensive, but its one of the few things I really can justify spending that sort of money on...you really will not see anything as impressive again :)
Thankfully things like Touring Cars and other events are a lot cheaper than what I would ever expect to pay so in some ways it balances out in my head.
I suppose theres no better opportunity to go than now, and its always cheaper to go to the home nation race.Quote:

Ohhh, 'decent' is a strange word...I'll give you a quick run-down:
Bronze Pass:
You can walk around anywhere for the 3days and sit on the grass verges and embankments. This ticket 'can' on raceday offer you some amazing views for half the price of most tickets...your going to have to sit in the same place though on grass (if its wet!) for several hours so as not to lose your position.
Silver pass:
This gives you access to any grandstand on the Friday and Saturday and a fixed viewing area on the Sunday. We bought these tickets last year and sat in Bridge, I have photo's of the view you get if you want to see...it's very good for the money. Remember Trulli crashing off last year? Sat at Bridge you had one of the best views to see it
Gold passes:
These vary in price according to where you sit. We are in Stowe B this year which is either Gold 1/2 I cannot remember. The views are meant to be more dramatic and from the seats I sat in last year on the Friday and Saturday I think it could be worth that extra bit :)
Thanks for the summary :), can i see some pics from the bridge position?Quote:

I'm hoping to get on the track at Silverstone again this year.. That's always fun, but the insurance isn't... ;)
S.
It would seem I'm off to the British GP with my pa (no I'm not paying thank god!) and for his Birthday pressie I'm planning to take us to the Sunday of Goodwood's Festival of Speed.
Never been to either.
Looking forward to both :D
More details on Festival of Speed? I dont actually know what it involvesQuote:

Goodwood revival any good?
The festival of speed sounds good, how does 3 days work? I have to bring a tent?
Some views from Bridge for you :)

I apologise that the images I took wern't closer zoomed in, but the camera I had at the time only had a small amount of digital zoom which was useless for taking shots like this as you can imagine.
A full list of ticket prices for F1 at Silverstone can be found here:

Looks good, pretty close to the action
So a ticket for that bit guarantees you a seat?
Nice piccies!
The Goodwood weekends are like any other racing event, tents, hotels, b&b or drive there everyday, all are done.
The revival is historic motors being spanked at full tilt for a weekend.
Another event I'd love to visit,
Maybe next year :)
I think the Goodwood is a bit too advanced for me :p, not prepared to overnight it just yet.
Also, anyone know if a calendar exists that lists ALL of the UK racing events this year? That would be handy
There's no need to overnight it!
I'm not, just the Sunday of the Festival this year :)
Is it worth the £42 per head just for sunday?
Im worried by the 'No camping chairs' statement, does that mean i either stand up all day or sit on the possibly wet grass? :(
I've got quite a few listed on my site. As for all the events your best just going to the pages for the events you want to see, thats all I have done. Either that or go to a circuit that is close to you and check out their calender.Quote:
