    Question Range Rover 4.0 DSE?

On my way to work a Mk2 Range Rover drove past me- in fact it drove along pretty much next to me for ages since the traffic was so heavy. Anyway, I'm 99% sure that the badge on the back said it was a 4.0 DSE- but I've never heard of such a model and neither apparently has Google? I'm sure I'm not making this up, unusually for me I was actually pretty compos mentis this morning, and I'm sure that's what I saw.

Can anyone advise? I'm not particularly interested in Range Rovers, but I am interested in 4L diesel engines.

    Rich :¬)

I thnk it's Mack who do a V8 Diesel that with a bit of imagination can be installed in most landies... I've heard it's an absolute pain in the hole tho....

It could be an aftermarket conversion I suppose, but the badges looked like stock Range Rover ones- I suppose that wouldnt be so difficult to achieve. I didn't think to look and see if it was right or left hand drive, I wonder if it could be a model for the foreign market? You'd think it'd still get onto google though.

    All very odd.

you sure it wasn't an HSE? cos the ones for the US market ALL had the petrol V8 in em - Diesel aint as popular over there, and the rest of the world got what the UK got basically. A mix of the 2.5 TD or the various incarnations of the Petrol V8

No, it didn't say HSE, that's why I noticed it. Ah well, it's a mystery wrapped up in an enigma.

Yup, the biggest I can find in a diesel is 3.0, but that's on the newer models..
