Exhaust wrapping

I've just ordered a stage 1 kit for my mini (w00t!) and I'm wondering whether wrapping the exhaust mainfold would be a good idea or not.

Thoughts?

yes.....the heat from the exhaust manifold will RUIN cold air intake....

its a hard job though.....do it OFF the car.....

when cars have Cross Flow heads......ie exhaust mainfold on one side, inlet the other....the heat isn't a problem....

but ....when onew influences the other to such an extent.....the induction temp suffers badly.

Get it shielded right fown to under the car.....it'll help performance

Cheers, the thing I was worried about was I've heard of moisture getting trapped under the insulation and rusting the manifold - is that a real problem?

You kidding....with THAT heat?

Only be a prob if younever used the car, andit got condensation on it......otherwise.......and I'm sure you are gonna drive it FAST.....it'll get HOT
