Megane - Clutch

My clutch went last week..... Couldn't have went at a worse time.... Rush hour traffic, so i limped home in 1st gear....

So i booked it into a local garage that specialises in Renaults.. Just phoned them to be told its all done.

£150 labour for them to fit a new clutch, new cable, and fresh gearbox oil.

I bought all the parts myself from Eurocarparts.

£150 seems a fair price considering the work involved to get the gearbox out. According the Haynes Book of Lies you need to lower the engine down, remove the front bumper to gain space to remove the gearbox.

Just gotta go and collect the car now.... and enjoy the pleasures of driving it. I've never driven it for just over a week now.

No... just the standard Valeo one

Drives much nicer now. Pedal is alot lighter than before.. and No crunchy gears

Bah, should of chucked a Volvo jobbie in - you'd never need to change it ever again!

I'll never need to change it again anyway.... I dont intend keeping the car much longer.
