An example of this are the original rubber matts we have in the footwells- they have very small bumps in the matts which make them very unique but a real issue. As the rubber has aged the bobbles now break off whenever you go and sit in the car. We now have a no shoes on policy! We've found that using Johnson's baby oil on the rubber makes it a little softer so it's less able to crack.
I forget all the details but the car is now due for a small paintjob from when a lose tile from the roof of the garage it was kept in fell off and scratched the back many years ago.
Very cool. Thank you for sharing. Subscribed to the YT channel.
My new boss drives an all-original 1969 E-Type, so I've passed this on. Sounds very much his sort of thing.
