I've just had it out with the 205/50/16 from the mondy on and there's no rubbing at all.
Taken it out to a big abandoned car park.

I've smacked the brakes on, driven hard enough round the bend to nearly loose the back end, driven round either way on full lock and there's no sign of rubbing. Havn't tried cornering under hard breaking yet.

Might be that the scorpio rims are offset better than the mondy rims a lot of sierra people have on?

Not quite sure I'll be so luck when it's on -25mm springs tho. Still, I'll be putting all new rubber on then anyway, so I can check these 50's first.

Will do - it'll probably only go out once ever couple of weeks whilst It's being done anyway.

Remember me saying my rear shocks had had it?

    http://crosby.ath.cx/hosted/sus1.jpg I'll link it as it's a big image.

They've got a HELL of a lot of traction. You can get controlled oversteer, but you've gott be brave.

Or nankangs the right way around! I'm not up on drifting.

Basicly, the XR4 is permanent 4x4. It's got a torque spliter in the transfer box which sends 66% of the torque to the back wheels and 33% to the front under normal conditions.

Under slip the tranfer box has a viscous coupling so it locks the diff. There's also a viscous LSD on the rear diff.

    The front's total open.

Dunno how suited to drifting that setup would be, it's the same as the Escort cossie aswell and I think Subaru (although the font on those may be LSD and I'm unaware of the torque split)?

XR4i is teh old 2.8MFi engine (about 145bhp, but a decent amout of torque) RWD. The 4i is the MK1 3dr shell (althouh the 4i shell is differnt to the cossies and 1.3 3drs as it has the extra pillars at the back.

It's even got 10" drum breaks on the back!
