    Hyundai Accent Coupe Experiences

Does anyone have any? Currently in the market for a new car, looking for something fairly nippy, good reliability and equipment. Budget is about 2K, 2.5K at the most.
So looking around on autotrader/parkers, ive more or less decided on a 1.5 Hyundai Accent COupe (1999-2000 better engine, alloys, cd player, for not much more cash and same insurance.)

Anyone ever driven/ridden in one? I know theyre fugly, but im not really fussed about that, insurance is more of a factor since im only 21, 3 years driving no claims, but no bonus cos been on dads policy.

Some insurers will take into account 3 years no claims driving under your dad's policy - check it out first with some insurance companies.

often 'coupe' cars are more expensive to insure than their hatch/saloon counterparts for no reason other than the name (volvo 480 is a prime example - its 5 groups higher than a 440 hatch).

It's only group 7, so its not too ridiculous, its just the accent coupe (basically 3dr accent w/ body kit) as opposed to the group 11/12 coupe (2.0 litre, based off a lantra)

Ive asked at direct line, who its with and they wont, i think its mainly cos ive not been on there continuously, 2 years when i first passed then a year off and on, then the last six months solid. DOnt think they keep records of it.

Does anyone know of any cheap insurers? I mean i know theres no such thing, but the cheapest insurance ive found is like 1200 quid, and that was on a 1.6 astra.

Try www.elephant.co.uk. Failing that buy a car magazine and ring every single insurer that advertises in the back (preferably from a work phone). Two years ago, I was about to go with the cheapest quote I'd got when I thought I'd try elephant as a final effort- result was a £120 saving. You never know when one insurer might be drastically cheaper than all the others.
