hmmmm.. nice...
you not got one to play with Zak??? ahhh poor Zak..
Not a normal VX though was it. Supposedly it was all carbon if memory serves to really cut the weight down and it had a revised rear end to help with the aerodynamics.
Still bloody impressive, shame it's not a real car.
told ya diesel would take over the world... muhahahahaaa

Typical ain't it? Vauxhall produce a car that everyone would want and then Don't make it.....
Look's nice too - Much better than the standard VX
Anymore specifics on the engine design?
Kinda wonderin' if it aint some Duramax diesel tach makin' it's way over from the Chevy trucks?
In case you didn't know, Ford and Dodge have had a long running battle over who had the best, most powerful diesel engine in a Pickup Truck. Chevy's always been kinda behind and then a couple years ago Chevy comes out with the Duramax diesel and blows away Ford and Dodge. More power, better milaege and really low emissions. 'Course some of the tech came from Isuszu but a lot of it was new. The cool parts of the Duramax is the fuel system and the way the connecting rods are made.
The fuel system can inject fuel up to 15 times per piston cycle. This means they can inject differing fuel loads throughout the cycle to achieve a complete burn. The air going out the exhaust is usualy cleaner than the air taken in.
The connecting rods are made as one solid piece of metal and then the crankshaft cap end is made by freezing the rod with liquid N2 and then breaking off the cap at the usual bolt locations.
They found that the rough "matched" surface helps create a better stronger fit with the rod cap.
They are pretty cool engines for diesels and the reason I bought a Chevy with a Duramax instead of a Chevy with a Big Block gas engine. The diesel is actually faster
I really like the VX's, I wish they made 'em here. At the price I've seen on the net in pounds it would be quite popular here I think.
