    2>Chevron road signs and posts highlighting the bend;
    3>It's a completely blind bend;
    4>No pavement, so there could be unseen pedestrians/cyclists/horses in road just past the bend;
    5>Farm buildings suggesting mud/slurry could be there making the road slippery.

    Yet he was still going fast enough to cause his car that much damage!

    Guilty as charged.

    i'm sorry but the amount of damage he caused was irrelivant. you can get something VERY wrong and do no damage at all, or get something slightly wrong and get it all fecked up.. that amount of damage would be caused by going into incoming traffic at nearly any speed.. so you can not assertain his speed from the amount of damage. it might well of been his fault, but whether he should be convicted of dangerous driving or not i dont know.. everyone with driving experiance has taken some corner a little too fast, run a stop light, locked up the wheels or similar, and 90% of the time you can get away with it. however doing any of those things could easily lead to the kind of damage that the fester ended up with.

    5lab,

    you're forgetting, I'm not basing the speed on the damage
    I was there, I was the one he was headed for.
    I've been round that road, literally hundreds of times, so I know how fast is too fast.

    Fact of the matter is... he caused the accident because of irresponsible driving.

    Feel for you mate. Hope they throw the book at the Fiesta driver. If he had had a passenger they would now be an ex-passenger!

    Get real. The combined speed was much higher than it should have been for the conditions. And the other driver was the one who lost control. For our purposes in this forum, it's reasonable to assume the other driver was the one going fastest, was driving dangerously, and caused the accident. The police will rightly be more thorough in their analysis, but the chances of their findings being different to mine are slim, you know that.

    You're right that we all make mistakes. But when you do so, and there are consequences, you have to be held responsible and pay the price.

    But we're ignoring the important question.
    Who's the nice looking blonde? Surely she wasn't a passengers in the Fiesta?

    Unlucky coco, hopefully she will be back to normal soon.
    I've always wondered, when a crash happens, who do you ring first? Police etc?

    No, coz you're asked which service you want. Personally, at the scene of any accident I'd ask for the ambulance first, they should be first there to treat any injuries. The Police would then be informed and they'd show up to ascertain what happened.

    I just phoned 999 and asked for police and ambulance attendance.

    It's the B4100 from Bicester to the A43.
