State the price per litre in pence and the location and brand; I'm curious to see just how wide the variation is...
For me it's 76.9p from BP in Newbury for normal unleaded.
74.9 the last 4/5 times I've filled up..
Gonna start shopping/filling up at safeway to take up there offer though

76.9p
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
I would advice against Supermarket petrol. It is notoriously low quality stuff and I personally have had bad experiences with it. I filled up my bike once at Asda (ran out of fuel otherwise I wouldn't have - damn inconvenient not having a fuel guage ) and for 2 weeks after that the bike suffered severe stuttering and loss of power at random intervals as though the carbs were blocked. After 2 fill ups with "proper" petrol it righted itself. There was obviously some crap deposited in my tank.Originally posted by Stu

Before anyone says it - I know millions of people fill up at supermarkets without any trouble - but I have seen the same warnings about supermarket fuel on many a car forum, so thought I would pass it on.
Sorry to hijack the thread Back to fuel prices...

Sorry to continue the Hijack but (and I am not just disagreeing for sake of it ) I used to use Tesco while the local BP was getting rebuilt, no problems at all. Now BP is open again, I have started using it. I didn't even consider it could be because I am getting petrol from a different place, but my car is acting alot like you described! I'll have to give Tesco another try.Originally posted by madmaca

I honestly don't know I only put 4 or 5 quids worth in at a time so I'm not bothered by the odd penny difference
Mini!!!!!
79.9 here for Optimax
Tesco is the exception as they use Esso fuel, the problem with the rest is that they get the petrol from wherever it's cheap and just put it in. This means you're getting different brands mixed together and i've had the same problem with supermarket petrol - a couple of tanks of decent Super Unleaded sorted it though. Think it depends on the engine as well though, my 1.6 16v didn't like it at all, but my g/f's 900cc Cinq runs fine on s-market fuel.Originally posted by Raz306

Will edit this post tomorrow when i've driven past the station to get the price
I live in Ireland
cheapest diesel Ive seen in Ireland is tescos in Killarney when you spend 50 euro on shopping get 5 cent off - leaving it @ 69.4 cent per litre thats approx 49 pence. petrol prices were within a cent or two of that
local prices near me are 80 cent for petrol and diesel
prices in NI are similar to the mainland
