    Lets not do the vulgar joke, but it does involve a U not an E

    Anyway.....took the second one out, soft followers....

    sent it back.

    Put original 68000 mile cam in it.....original followers...

    beautifull....

    so full refund, and compensation for 2 lots of stretch bolts, head gaskets etc.

    Sad bunch of wasters....they had SUCH a GOOD reputation

    Cant believe that - as you say they used to be so good
    Do you know if its just a bad batch - or if its the actual fab process? (sure you had said they had moved fab plants overseas?)

    As far as I can make out......everything is naturally "without predjudice" which means, what they say is not legal or admitting....

    they said they were interested in the batch of followers.

    So I am now stuck between a rock and a hard place....cos Piper used to have the very same reputation...soft and not good quality control. Sodunno who to go with.

    Gonna get Dave to crackon with the suspension etc now...

    God...Bilsteins are expensive

    Maybe go for a specialist Vauxhall tuner's cam?

    I know for Renaults all sorts of tuning companies have cams. I'm sooo tempted to get Europarts cam since it's pretty cheap.. but the labour on fitting it. OMG.

    your cam is in the block, isn't it Lowe? Its a push rod in a Turbo,as I recall.

    Hey....just thought....you're a VOLVO DRIVER

    I'm SURE that the R5 Turbo 1.4 engine is the same as the Volvo 340

    I'm right....aren't I ?

    I suspect so.... the 1.7 turbo in the renault 11 turbo is the same as the 480 Turbo :-)

    That why I liked the 2.0l in my old 360 as it was a real volvo lump

    Correct for both Zak, good old pushrod lump. 50 year old design for my engine.

    Yup same engine in the 340 - but Renault built and designed em, so actually the Volvo lot are Renault drivers.
