Jesus.... I though mine were bad because the pads were nearly dead!

WOW!
How long since you last changed them?
Shocking........ get em done ASAP!
I'm ordering some new kevlar pads for my car this week! as theres not much meat left on the old ones and dont want to be caught out with them grinding on metal (my nice grooved black diamond discs) and having to put crappy discount shop pads in which make loads of dust all over my multispoke alloys..... (which are a bitch to clean).

I want to uprate mine. I also want to change my drums on the rear to disks. Whats a good make to go for and how much am I looking at to dent the wallet? My problem is I brake late, and I need something that will help me to stop a trifle quicker! I scare myself sometimes. Yes I know its a bad habit.
I could do with ABS on my car nevermind better brakes stopping in the wet is quite an artform!

Never changed em. I've only used one set of pads in the 4ish years I've had it aswell.Originally Posted by Nemeliza
Crazy really, still stops like nothing else despite the state of them.
Nope, they feel like perfectly good brakes. The only clues are a little pulse on the wheel and a sligh grinding noise slowing down from 10mph or below.
Seriosuly, stamping on those brakes really does make you feel like your brain's trying to exit through your eyeballs.
You sir need shot for discs like that 0.o Mine are starting to rust around the outer grove of the discs and I am already looking at replacing them.

Dont worry about them... they all do it. I just sprayed mine and obviously the overspray on the disc just wears off!Originally Posted by Grey M@a

Got it's MOT last week with them.
There really was no clue as to the condition. I just went to change the pads and though.....erm.....better nip them off.
If you bought a proper set of performance discs they would come ready coated!Originally Posted by XTR
As long as the braking is effective, they will not look nor care, in actual fact they could be metal on metal and still pass! Although they plan to add minimum thickness criteria to the MOT test.Originally Posted by Konan555
No Sensei, i'm not kicking the mats to waste time, they have parted and I don't want to injure myself!
