    Cart Racing

I went last night and all i can say is well WOOOOHOOOO
its sooo flipping cool, got the fastest lap out of the 4 of us from work who went. (practising for a work paid outing on Friday to the same carting place) Daytona in MK.

Its soooo flipping cool, and i now understand drifting like no-ones business, and commitment OMG the commitment for some of the corners is essential, pure faith in the fact that the car is going to get round....

My best lap's average speed was 36.4mph, which i'm very impressed with for my first time on carts of this type. Our team qualified 19/23 due to us having 4 people and lots of others having 2 or 3, we only had 2 proper qualifying laps....

after my 30minutes i'd dragged us up to 11th which i was very very pleased with, especially considuring the regulars all appeared to be there...

And now to race virtually all of work on Friday will be soooo cool....

I wanna win for my team on Friday, but more than that i want fastest lap

The Daytona carting in MK is awesome, been there a few times now.

400cc carts mmmmmm last time we went it was a 3 hour endurance race, with 3 in each team taking 2 30 minute turns at the wheel, and after 30 minutes you needed a break Finished 3 out of 17 teams

Maybe we should sort a Hexus carting day out there? I know it's not the cheapest carting place around but it must be one of the best.

is it indoors or out?with the underpowered karts it can get a bit boring so we always go when its wet now...with slicks on...it's awesome fun, flat out drifts finishing with 2 wheels clipping the gravel trap every lap followed by a laguna seca, bathust style corkscrew or dipper with about a 30ft drop-off,ahh it brings back memories of 2 stroke madness

Speed Karting in warrington is a right laugh - 750m lap - flyover and everything. think it's about £1200 for an afternoon on the big track - and they run a GP style event for you with proper lap timing and everyhting. Get 30 peeps to go and it works out at less than £50 each...

Daytona is 1350m long, 390cc carts, top speed of the carts is about 60mph and its outdoors.

4 of us did a 2hr endurance race for £120, so £30 for 5 minutes warm up each and 30mins of the race.

COOL! I've been to Daytona 3 times with a load of friends (mini endurance, 1 hour race split into teams of 2) and it was ACE!!!! Great laugh and VERY competitive!!! The last lap is always the best because you just give it your all!!!
