Probably the Focus, even if they're somewhat omnipresent the insurance on them is quite something (in a cheap way) and you'll get more for your money than going Golf.

206s are avaliable for cheap, but again where everywhere and you'll need a binbag to collect bits of trim as they fall off

Can't you do it through a friend or family that have good no claims etc?

When I pass my test and get a car I'll be doing it through my dads name so I can afford the insurance. (I'll be down as an additional driver)

I waited till I was 21 on my own policy, I could just never get a reasonable car insured before then. And I'm in a very good postcode aswell.

Then, when cars did become affordable, I went group 14. Didn't quite get it right there.

That's what I've done for the last year and a half. I want my own policy.

I'd just do as Konan555 did, and what I plan to do. Until your at least 21, I know you want your independence, and build up your own no claims but it's expensive for drivers under 21.

Atleast you can all get insured on others insurance! My mum has a company car and I can't go on that, I'm in the process of trying to find something really cheap to insure

Fiat Stilo 1.6, cheap to buy cheap to insure, check around thou, better then most fiats but still not purfect.
