    Beat this.

Well, My car went in for it's 60,000K service/MOT yesterday....

And what a surprise i got!

    Major Service,
    MOT,
Rear brakes compltetly sorted (brake lines were leaking, brake pads were dirty, brake drums were screwed some how)
    5 new tyres
    Wheel Tracking
    Steering Alignment
    Antifreeze for engine
    FL indicator bulb
    FR main beam bulb
    Registration plate lamp replaced

    and more.

The grand total? £785 / £820 depending if the break line fluid needs replacing or flushing.

I was totally pissed off but lucky my dad has been very nice about it (considering!) and my car should be all fixed by the end of this afternoon.

Crazy stuff to be spending on a car that cost me £2250 in the first place but ohhh well

    Ben

mates 4yr old escort went in for a major (30k??) service and cost him about £650 including cambelt, drivebelt, aircon service and a load of other stuff.

another friend of mine recently brought a t5 estate with 200k on the clock, a full 100k service inc new turbo set him back a whopping £1040.

Jesus H Christ - thats crazy.....
Must admit I cant beat that, but have been close with my old Saab Turbo that went in for a service and fault find.......
They couldnt find the fault - so kept putting it back on the rolling road to 'try' and find it.....
Went ballistic at them - and they said could be one of 2 things (they thought)...... though they wouldnt commit to anything....
Lets just say I dont go there anymore (PTS in Luton for those who are interested)
Garages - I hate them with a passion...

    Whoa, that's some serious price!

    Lets break this down here..

    Major Service: £150-200 (inc labour)
    MOT: £40
Rear brakes compltetly sorted (brake lines were leaking, brake pads were dirty, brake drums were screwed some how) Brake lines = £20, Pads = £15-25, Drums = £15-20.
5 new tyres = Depends on the brand. I'd imagine about £130 for normal tyres.
    Wheel Tracking = £20-30
Steering Alignment = Part of the above job.
    Antifreeze for engine = £20
    FL indicator bulb = £1
FR main beam bulb = £5-6 quid.
Registration plate lamp replaced = £1.

By my reckoning, even at the most expensive parts costs that's 500 quid. That means they're charging £300 labour for changing 3 bulbs, the coolant and rear brakes. They're having a laugh...

Lowe theres some other stuff i havent mentioned cus i didnt know wtf it was and couldnt remember it.

when i get a fully itemised invoise i will list all that it had done.

Oh and its being done at Bristol Street Ford, so its gunna be a bit more expensive, but comes with a decent warrenty and original Ford parts.
