To be fair though the car Clarkson reviewed had a turbocharged 2.8 V6, meaning it was indeed really rather good, rather than a lower power 4 pot.
IMHO, 6 cylinders > 4 cylinders. 4 cylinders are for cheap cars costing under 15k

The Saab is a great car, with the cockpit driving position, but for reliablity and peace of mind, I'd go for the Volvo. Definately need to make sure that Saab has been well maintained.
