    Ever have bad DIY days?

Can I get that ruddy rad fan off?

I have cuts, scrapes, aches and pains and where have I got to? All the belts hanging all over the place, a lost bolt and a pully hanging off I can locate because of the amount of painfull sharp things in the way.

I could've lifted the engine out and fitted a new one quicker than this!

Anyway, as always, the more annoyed I got the more mistakes I made untill it thankfully became to dark to consider doing any more.

    All over a stupid fan.

and thats precisely why I never do anything vaguely technical relating to cars/bikes/insert motorised thing here. I know exactly how you feel, and currently my uncle feels exactly the same way after taking the faring off my bike to change the plugs

I'm sure cars are much worse than that

What should be a simple job can take forever, take changing a headlight bulb in a a rover 75. This involves opening the bonnet so you can see, turn the wheel to full lock, remove a flap in the wheel arch, putting your arm through the hole and locating the brackets holding in the bulb, remove the bracket, attempt to get the new bulb in the right place and then put everything back!

Might not seem awefully bad but when you concider ours ate bulbs for breakfast its annoying. Also had a ford maverick (aka nissan teranno) and changing the starter motor in that prooved to be a challenge!
