    Thanks for the comments

Yesterday was mainly spent DRIVING it (pfft @ cleaning it ) which was why I wasnt around. And it was a bit more than 9k

Anyway, it's fantastic. Love it to bits.

Negatives so far are the gearbox isn't as good as the Focus' and the stereo doesn't handle CD text.

Steering - it's got a short rack so there's only something like 2 turns lock to lock which means you don't have to put much effort in to get it round a bend. The feedback is excellent, it's just great fun to use.

Engine - smooth, powerful, and with a FANTASTIC engine note But although the red line is at 7k, the power deffinitely tops off at around 6. And annoyingly, it'll do about 58mph in 2nd gear, which means a change to 3rd is needed to hit 60. Throttle response is excellent, if I didn't already know I wouldn't have guessed it's fly-by-wire

Brakes - WOW! Christ does this thing stop!! Discs all round probably have something to do with that though.

Interior - possibly my favourite aspect is the inside. I'll take some more pics later. The front seats are so supportive; I was expecting to be sliding all over the place on the leather, but they just hug you in the seat. The driving position is spot on for me, which means I can get really comfy driving it. And lazy; that centre arm rest is good to rest on and lazily change gear I've been assured it's just as comfy in the back too.

Misc - the onboard computer system is damn clever, telling me my fuel consumption as I'm driving, as well as averages. Even tells me how many more miles I can do at the current MPG. The stereo is great (but lacks CD text) but it's a bit complicated. The climate control is a bit complicated too but I think I've figured it out...

One completely new thing to me has been traction control (which can be switched off). When the computer senses two wheels loosing grip, it cuts engine power and when it senses one wheel loosing grip, it uses the brake on that wheel with similar effect to an LSD. So anyway I came up to some traffic lights last night in the wet beside a new shape Astra with fancy wheels and a spoiler. I wasn't going to bother, but he pulled off very quickly. Well, it'd have been rude not to

Came away smoothly and then booted it and the TC came on, cutting the power. I could feel it though the steering, but a warning light came on too. I think the 7krpm limit helped me ease in front as he changed gear, but what surprised me was the TC coming on again when I changed to 2nd

Anyway, it's a great car to drive; you can drive about lazily and smoothly very happily, and tickle the rev limiter every now and again as a reminder of what it can do

    < happy bunny
