theres actually lots of VERY good off-road riding in bracknell (enter the woods at the lookout - go for a mile or so, theres about 5 miles of singletrack and jumps in there)..

i'd personally go for a 2nd hand bike off the singletrackworld.co.uk forums. bikes drop 50% of their value inside 6 months - so you really get a very good bargin for your money

if you want something strong, get something thats sold as a play/jump bike - something with an azonic frame, or a specialized p1/p2 would do nicely.

I've noticed some nice 19" fox frames on a well known aution sight recently. Always the option of building up your own bike.

You buy that, and you'll never regret the decision. If your not soaring through the air, you don't need anything as strong as an azonic. Bombing down hills can be done on any bike, and if you don't know what your doing your going to bend something regardless.

Why?, some cheeky gits at my school show off with there "stupidly over priced £500 odd quid bike", and laugh at my cheap no-make 'pro bike' but even so, I can still peddel about 10 mph faster than them!.
