Crashed my car but is it still road legal?

Ok minor exaggeration but i had a bump with another car on a mini roundabout Im approaching the mini roundabout, some dude on a road on my left is also approaching. he comes to the roundabout just before me and breaks....im thinking good give way to me as i am on the right. Then the punk b**ch quickly floors it and trys to get round the mini roundbout before me and even cut the thing in the process, iv slammed on my breaks which locked the wheels (road was slippery) and slid into him (no hard but thats besides the point). right corner of my car has hit the rear bumper on his car (he almost made it) which made a nice dent in my right wing and broke my indicator casing and left a crack in my bumper. The indicator bulp maraculously is still working even though it does not have a casing.

Now does the broken indicator & crack on my bumper mean my car is not roadworthy?

On a side note the punk b**ch in the other car tried to say the accident was my fault to which i replied STFU ur supposed to give way to traffic on the right, either way i got his details and what not so itsup to insurance to decide whose fault it is.
Before anyone has a crack i wasnt speeding, i was doing like 15mph as i was comming to a roundabout anyway and did see him, if i was doing 30 i would have hit him good! and prlly wrote off my lil polo in the process.

    Thanks for any help.

I smashed the cover of my indicator and creased the front wing going underneath part of an HGV trailer last Christmas, it still flashed orange. Didn't get stopped in the 4 months I drove it afterwards.

you wont get thru an mot with cracked indicator, but its probably fine till then. if not, a new indicator for a ~10 year old car (guessing) should only set you back £20 or so

If he pulled out on you on a roundabout it's 100% his fault so why worry? Just claim on his insurance.

Thats what im trying to do.

I already have a spare indicator from when i swapped them over a few months back, just dont know how to put the damn thing on there
the part of the wing that holds the indicator is a little wounded so ill need to see if i have to replace the wing first.

    thanks for the input.

If you are unsure about changing bulbs n' stuff, and as it may have taken some damage, check out ukpolos.net - lot of helpful chaps there that might shed some light on this (ah what a pun...)

Also, VAGparts.com stock pretty much all the parts for Polos. I've gotten most of my mods from 'em... Good luck and hope you get her fixed soon

To be honest if there's nothing likely to fall off, no major sharp edges, and the indicator still flashes orange then i'd leave it until you've contacted your insurance. Describe it to them and ask them what you should do with it, if you get stopped in the meantime just explain and it should be fine.

    That's what i'd do anyway.

A new bumper plus spraying would probably be around £250-300 at a guess
