    McLaren's recent acquisitions

Just saw that McLaren signed Alonso for 2007. This coming after they nicked Vodafone off of Ferrari is very impressive. They have lost Newey to Red Bull, and theres rumors about Raikkonen leaving for Ferrari in 2007, but they can always keep Montoya if Kimi leaves. Not a bad second driver by all means.

I suppose Vodafone jumped ship because they don't think Ferrari can be champions without Schumi, especially after the rubbish year they had in 2005.

I have to say I am not looking forward to Kimi in Ferrari, as i won't know who to support. I've been really annoyed with Ferrari of late and have always supported McLaren and Williams. But Kimi was my favourite driver in recent years. It might be painful to watch them on opposite sides. Or looking at it from another side - either my favourite team or my favourite driver are bound to win lol.

What do you guys think then?

Where does this leave Renault? Especially with their boss not too sure about all the millions F1 is costing him.

Renault will leave f1 in 2007 saying something like its costs too much to contest and they have achieved all they wanted to and you can only go one way from a wc win and thats down.

Vodafone left ferrari as they wanted much more money and voda wasn't prepared to cough up the extra cashola. Mclaren is a very brand similiar to ferrari but I would bet they are cheaper than ferrari for sponsership.

Ferrari will have a stonker this year with the new v8's with michaelin leaving in 2007 as well bridgestone have more impetus to sort their act out helping out their most favoured team

Kimi and Alsono at Mclaren would be a real battle I think. They are very different characters but both are quick , what the difference between them is hard to say until you see them side by side
